Underwear guide

Finding the right underwear to wear under your bridesmaid or bridal dress can sometimes be a difficult task. The main thing you want to make sure is that no seams or straps are showing - which can be tricky if you're wearing a dress with thin straps or a low back. We get asked a lot what underwear we recommend to wear with Rewritten dresses so we've brought to you our favorites.

The Brooklyn dress gets the most underwear questions - "I want to wear a bra but it has a low back, what do I do?!" Well, here are a few solutions, and handily we sell most of them. Shop underwear solutions here.

NIPPLE COVERS

Nipple covers are perfect if you're comfortable not wearing a bra. We recommend both silicone nipple covers which are reusable, and the fabric petal covers which are great for one wear.

SILICONE NIPPLE COVERS

These really affordable silicone nipple covers give a skin feel and smooth finish under the Brooklyn dress.

FABRIC NIPPLE COVERS

These fabric nipple covers are slightly thinner than the silicone covers. These covers aren't reusable but come in a 3 pack.

STICK ON BRA

Stick on bras have come a long way recently and offer much more support than they used to.

LOW BACK BRA CONVERTERS

If you would prefer to wear a regular bra with your Brooklyn, then a low back converter will be your best friend. Attach it to any strapless bra and the low back converter will pull the strap down enough so it's not seen.

Our Roma dress has a slight racer style back meaning you can wear a regular bra with straps, but you will need to pull the straps in so they don't show. You can do this with our bra clips. They are super easy to use and pinch in your bra straps so they are hidden under the racer back on the dress.

SHAPEWEAR

Shapewear is great under any style dress and there are many different styles to choose from. One of our favorite brands for shapewear is Skims. Skims offer different styles of body suits, thongs/briefs/shorts and bra solutions. The fabric is super sculpting and seam free so it doesn't show under our styles.
