How to wear our dresses, by styleUpdated 3 months ago

Trying on your dress at home and not sure if you've got the straps sitting right or how to tie the sash on your Brooklyn? To help out, we've created the ultimate 'how to style' guide for each of our dresses.

The Brooklyn Dress

The Brooklyn is a slip style bridesmaids dress which comes in satin.

The style of the dress is a loose slip style which fits true to size. The beauty of the Brooklyn is that it is made with fabric that is cut on the bias, so there is a stretch to it which allows you to jump up and down sizes and it will just fit differently. Like your dresses tight fitting? Go down a size. Like it to be a bit looser? Stick with your regular size or even size up.

The Brooklyn dress features cross straps at the back with adjusters which allow you to tighten or loosen the dress. If you prefer the V neck front to be a bit higher, all you need to do is tighten the straps at the back.

We recommend you either wear nipple covers with the Brooklyn dress or if you would prefer to wear a bra, go for a strapless with low back converters or a stick on bra.

The dress is also double layered and features a sash which can be worn many ways. Our favorites are either around the waist or as a neck accessory.

If you're styling the sash around the waist, there are 2 ways of doing this. The first way is to take the sash and place the middle of it at the centre front of your waist, wrapping around to the back and cross over bringing both ends back to the front. You can tie the ends in a double knot or in a bow.

The other way you can tie the waist sash is by starting at the back and bringing the sash around the front and tying it in a bow or a knot. This way will give you more length of the sash at the front.

You can also style the sash around your neck by placing the centre of the sash at the front of your neck and letting it drape down the back.

The Florence Waterfall

The Florence Waterfall is a midi length dress with draped short sleeves and a waterfall hem for a flattering fit.

The style of the dress is fitted across the top with a floaty skirt, and is true to size. If you have a bigger bust, you may want to go up a size so the wrap crosses over further across your chest. This dress is also perfect for maternity - again we recommend you go up a size so you have more fabric to wrap across your bump. If going up a size gives you too much fabric at the top, you can easily have the dress tailored and taken in slightly.

The Florence v neck wrap dress features a tie to wrap and tie the dress to keep the crossover front in place. With the dress on, take the tie from the right hand side of your body, cross it over your front and through the small loop hole which sits at the left side of your waist. Cross the left part of the dress over your front to the right and take both ends of the tie, cross them over at the back and bring them back around to the front to tie in a bow.

The loophole at the back is for loosening or tightening the neckline. Tying this tighter will also pull in the shoulders slightly, which is perfect if you are more on the petite side.

The Porto Dress

The Porto is a one shoulder, floor length bridesmaids dress which features a sash and side split. The style of the dress is fitted on top with a looser skirt. If you prefer to have a bit more dancing room, or if you have a bigger bust (larger than a DD cup) - we recommend going up a size.

The Porto dress comes with a sash which can be worn around the waist or tied in a bow on the shoulder.

If you're styling the sash around your waist, start with the centre of the sash at the centre of your waist at the front, wrap around and cross at the back bringing both ends of the sash back round to the front. Tie in a double knot and twist slightly to the side to sit over the side split seam.

To wear the sash on the shoulder, feed the sash through under the shoulder strap to the middle so you have 2 equal lengths either side. Start by tying in a knot to secure the sash, and then tie into a bow.

We recommend wearing a strapless bra with the Porto dress.

The Florence Dress

The Florence dress is an ankle length, v neck wrap dress with draped short sleeves and a tie waist. Different to the Florence Waterfall dress, this style is made from our beautiful crepe fabric and has a straight hem.

The style of the dress is fitted across the top with a floaty skirt, and fits true to size. If you have a bigger bust (larger than a DD), you may want to go up a size so the wrap crosses over further across your chest. This dress is also perfect for maternity - again we recommend you go up a size so you have more fabric to wrap across your bump. If going up a size gives you too much fabric at the top, you can easily have the dress tailored and taken in slightly.

The Florence wrap dress features a tie to wrap and tie the dress to keep the crossover front in place.

The Mykonos Dress

The Mykonos is a floor length dress with a v neck, spaghetti straps and cold shoulder sleeves. The high waistline incorporates darts for a flattering fit and the back is finished with a concealed zip. Similar to the Ibiza dress, this style is perfect for both slim and curvier figures. We recommend getting your usual dress size in the Mykonos, but if you have a bigger bust (over a DD) then we recommend going up a size.

Simply pop the dress on and zip it up at the back. The style of the dress has a straight across back which allows for a standard strapless bra. You can also add a waist sash around the dress if you wish to style this a little bit differently (waist sashes sold separately).

The Soho Jumpsuit

The Soho bridesmaids jumpsuit offers a modern alternative to a bridesmaids dress.

Featuring flowing wide leg palazzo trousers, darted waist detail, back of the neck key hole design, bow neck tie and finished with a flattering waist sash tie.

If you find the legs on the Soho jumpsuit too long, you can easily have them shortened by a tailor. This jumpsuit is also perfect to mix & match with our crepe and satin collection, and can be worn time and time again.

Slip the jumpsuit on and zip the jumpsuit up at the back. Next, tie the neck tie into a big bow at the back. Finally, to add the sash around the waist, start with the middle seam of the sash at the front, wrapping around the back, crossing over and bringing back to the front and tying in a double knot. You can also start the sash at the back and wrap it round to the front, and tie the sash in a bow.

The Roma Dress

The Roma dress is cut on the bias, featuring a high back halter neck and crafted in flowing satin. The high back allows for a strapless bra to be worn without being seen at the front or back. This floor length bridesmaids style measures 114cm from waist to hem. If too long this dress is easily altered, or if your a taller bridesmaid, this style still works really well at ankle length.

The long back zip on the Roma dress allows you to easily slip the dress on over your head. Make sure the front of the dress is crossed over the neck, and the back ties are laying straight. Zip up the dress and close the hook and eye at the top. Tie the ties in a double knot and leave them to hang straight at the back. If you prefer, you can tie the ties in a bow.

The Amelia Dress

We love the way a bias cut dress looks walking down the aisle. Enter the Amelia - a flowing bridesmaids v neck dress with thick straps and crafted in beautiful satin.

The Amelia dress is bias cut for flowing movement. No zips or fastenings means this style can just be slipped straight on over your head. Featuring a v front neck with a v back design - this dress can be worn with any bra with the ruching detail sitting at the front.
